About Shelley
Shelley Penney.jpg)
So what about me anyway. (p.s the Twitter me I designed myself. Feel free to share with a link back! :-))
Well first of all, I like to learn new things… but I DO NOT follow the crowd. As a result, I have had a bit of a nose up about TWITTER. Well I finally broke down and created an account… hmmm … there is an aful lot of following going on over there. I looked at a few posts, found a couple of friends, made a tweet or two and the next thing you know I am creating a blog that will consolidate ALL of my websites and goings on to one grand site called SHELLEY SAID….
Why one site? Well I was poking on a friend’s Tweeter Blog and one of the commenters said he had multiple Twitter accounts, for all of the different interests and websites he had, and I thought to myself NO WAY! Sure tweeting and following will get easier as I get the hang of it, but I can not imagine having more than one account! So if I am not going to have more than one Tweeter account, but I DO want people to know that I am multi-faceted and deep (WAY deep….) then I really need a central place for twits and tweeps to follow my tweets to Shelley Said…
Maybe I’ll have something interesting to say on occasion. Don’t stop following me if you don’t get me right away. I’m a slow bloomer for a boomer, but once I get going I have opinions that could offend nearly anyone (for the purpose of stimulating conversation of course!).
So a bit about me…
- I’m a wife and mom.. My two kids are both in college and my friends tease me that my husband is a good wife to me. Life is good!
.jpg)
- I was a cat in another life.. This is Shady Lane… he is one of five adorable kitties that own me. Here he is sitting in a Moosehead box (Moosehead is a Canadian Beer ). Shady doesn’t know he’s all grown up now, and he still tries to fit himself into the places he went as a kitten. I have a lot of friends who still try to do that too!
- I am a retired registered nurse… Boy that was the hardest I’ve ever worked in my life, and I was good at my job. Nursing was a true ‘calling’ for me. I loved taking care of people, and "seeing" inside of them to see what was wrong. Burned out at 35. I poured my heart and soul into it, and nearly lost myself.
- I am The MLM Diva.. If you are afraid of MLM it’s because someone didn’t explain it well enough to you or someone was over zealous and turned you off. I love MLM. It is fun, you meet lots of people, get to hone newly learned leadership skills on strangers, and what you make depends on how well you learn them. I am NOT a one company gal… although I have my favorite that’s for sure. There are many people who say that you can’t build more than one business… they either want you to focus on THEIR business exclusively or they just aren’t good at multi-tasking. The truth is, with technology you can run a number of successful businesses. You just need to learn to prioritize and sort.
- I am creative in a technical kind of way… I taught myself how to build websites, learned raw HTML, and I love to manipulate images and create banners in photoshop. I still can not work the DVD player however.
- I am direct.. I don’t believe in beating around the bush, and I find whenever I try to employ tact, people just end up misunderstanding me, missing the point completely. I just have found over the years that I need to express what is on my mind. What I say is (usually) without judgement. i.e. Unless I am pointing at you, I am NOT talking about you. Don’t take what I say personally. My opinions guide how I live my life, but I don’t try to impose them on anyone, and I do not ‘dislike’ because someone thinks differently. No matter what I think for my own life, I cherish your right to think for your life.
- I love people, I love life and I love … well.. I just love. I am passionate and because of that there always seems to be a lot of drama around. Passion has a way of doing that. But it also bubbles up and spills over the rim of the pot and slowly oozes across the stovetop of my life to touch the other burners. Little bits or a lot depending on what’s cooking.
Well there’s lots more than that and as the days, weeks and months go by, I will add to this page. This website will contain links to little bits of my life, my businesses, my friends, and my foes. This is my own little corner of the internet and I plan to fill it uP!

November 24th, 2008 at 5:30 pmGreat little story about yourself. It seems like bloggers have a tendency of talking about their business more than themselves. Refreshing.
